Satisfaction can be “guaranteed” but in many cases, it’s not delivered.
And at airports like Southwest Florida International (RSW) in Fort Myers, the quest to make everyone happy, or satisfied, can be especially challenging because of the volume of people coming and going every day.
In 2024, RSW set an all-time high with more than 11,000,000 passengers flying in and out of the region. This year the airport is on a similar pace with four months to go, including the start of the tourist and snowbird season.
In the latest North American Airport Satisfaction Study from J. D. Power for 2025, released Sept. 17, RSW once again is rated among the top medium sized airports in the U.S. earning Top-10 status.
On a 1,000-point scale based on 30,439 completed surveys of U.S. or Canadian passengers on items such as ease of travel, level of trust, terminal facilities, staff, food, beverage and retail, and more, RSW earned more points this year but dropped in the rankings from third (675) to 7th, coming in with 683 in 2025.
A historic expansion project is underway at RSW, including the construction of a new terminal.

Travelers flying into and out of Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) are getting something a little extra these days. And they didn’t have to pay for it.
They are witnessing the future of the Fort Myers airport as it begins to take shape.
In just a few short months there have been dramatic changes to the place that serves as a gateway to “paradise” for the millions of people who travel here annually.
The beginnings of a skeleton of what will become Concourse E has already had a dramatic impact on the look of the airport. Towering cranes are the dominant machinery on the construction site.
The is second phase of the expansion, which started in October 2024 and is the centerpiece of this expansion project.
Work is also taking place inside the terminal at all three levels, including a new ticketing lobby and bag claim area, as well as a new baggage handling system, for the new concourse.

The highly anticipated Four Seasons Resort in Naples is taking reservations.
Years in the making, the resort, part of a larger mixed-use luxury development, known as the Naples Beach Club, will debut in October.
Four Seasons announced the opening of reservations via a press release June 17.
While the release did not include an official opening date, the resort’s website shows the first-available booking date as Oct. 20, with limited options, or restrictions. After that date, rooms are marked as unavailable until Nov. 24 (with limited availability, until December).
The Four Seasons is replacing the former Naples Beach Hotel, off Gulf Shore Boulevard North. The Watkins family owned and operated the hotel for 75 years, through three generations, before selling the property for redevelopment in 2021.

The busy season for Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is winding down, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look ahead to later in the year when it comes to flight options coming to and from the Fort Myers airport.
Good news. Travelers who use RSW are getting one more travel option for the 2025 holiday, and this will also likely please ski lovers.
Delta Air Lines is adding three new domestic routes on Dec. 20, including one between Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers and Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), according to The Points Guy and verified by the airline.
All three of the new flights will run once a week, on Saturdays. There is no saver award availability on the routes so passengers using miles will need to pay Delta’s dynamic SkyMiles redemption rates, The Points Guy reported.
Tickets are available now.

What’s a “best beach towns” list without Naples being mentioned?
Not credible. At least that is our opinion.
So, kudos to Southern Living for getting the job done with its “The 50 best beach towns in the South 2025” list. The experts at Southern Living narrowed things down and beautiful Naples is No. 22 in the rankings.
America’s best beach towns: What they said about Naples
Dining and high-end shopping, a vibrant arts scene, spectacular shores—it’s easy to see why this area is dubbed the Paradise Coast. In a single day in Naples, you can catch a showy sunrise; play a round at an award-winning golf course; go boutique hopping on either Third Street South or Fifth Avenue South; and then walk over to Sea Salt, Del Mar, or Mediterrano for a delicious and memorable alfresco meal.
