The busy season for Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is winding down, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look ahead to later in the year when it comes to flight options coming to and from the Fort Myers airport.
Good news. Travelers who use RSW are getting one more travel option for the 2025 holiday, and this will also likely please ski lovers.
Delta Air Lines is adding three new domestic routes on Dec. 20, including one between Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers and Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), according to The Points Guy and verified by the airline.
All three of the new flights will run once a week, on Saturdays. There is no saver award availability on the routes so passengers using miles will need to pay Delta’s dynamic SkyMiles redemption rates, The Points Guy reported.
Tickets are available now.

Liz Freeman | Naples Daily News
NCH officials marked an end to one era and welcomed the start of a new one Wednesday.
Dozens of hospital leaders and medical staff gathered outside the Telford Education Center, which sits south of the Baker Hospital near downtown Naples, to mark the demolition of Telford.
The location is where the nonprofit hospital system will build a new $265 million heart center that was in planning and approval stages with the city of Naples for more than three years and is finally a go.
The 189,000-square-foot, five-story complex that is contemporary in design will consolidate heart and stroke care in one location with the latest technology for optimal patient care. Tamiami Trail – Tampa to Miami and vice versa – started with Dade County commissioners agreeing to fund a portion of the road in 1915 and ending with a 260-mile highway and a new county – Collier.
During the 13 years of construction, work would stop several times because of a lack of funds. Barron Gift Collier finally agreed to fund completion of eastern portion through The Everglades in exchange for Collier being formed out of what was then a giant Lee County and named for him. When finally completed in 1928, the trail would open up commerce, a new world for visitors and more residents to Florida.
Tamiami Trail, also known as U.S. Route 41 and U.S. 41, was considered a feat of civil engineering, requiring extensive labor and resources, including dynamite and specialized equipment.

Already celebrated for its beaches, fine dining, golf courses, and thriving arts scene, Collier County has now earned recognition as one of the best places in Florida to own a small business.
A new study from SmartAsset ranked Florida’s most small-business-friendly counties, and Collier landed in the top five—coming in at No. 4 overall, according to a recent article by Mark H. Bickel of Naples Daily News.
SmartAsset based its rankings on five key factors: the current small business ownership rate, the five-year growth rate in ownership, the share of income generated by small businesses, the five-year growth in that income share, and income tax data. These categories were combined into a total score to assess each county’s appeal for entrepreneurs.
