The Kingston community, a massive Corkscrew Road corridor development east of Estero, is set to open its first model homes this weekend.
The News-Press photojournalist and drone pilot Ricardo Rolon produced an aerial video and photos above and around the project in late September to get a unique view of how the landscape is changing.
The news Kingston community in East Lee County: What to know
Here are nine things to know about the new Kingston community:
- The community is scheduled to open Saturday, Oct. 17, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., inviting prospective homebuyers, families and the community to experience what’s coming to Kingston. The grand opening is at 20064 Kingston Southern Parkway in Estero and will feature a variety of activities and special offers from all four builders, along with opportunities to tour the community and newly constructed model homes. “This project has been in the planning and development stages for years, and seeing the first model homes under construction is an exciting moment for our team,” said Nick Cameratta, partner of Cameratta Companies, in a Sept. 17 In the Know column by The News-Press Growth and Development reporter Phil Fernandez.
- The land where the Kingston community is being built extends more than 10 square miles east of Estero to State Road 82
- The first model homes are under construction, representing the transition from maps and renderings to actual neighborhoods.
- Kingston South alone, with prices starting in the $400,000s, will include 3,625 homes from Neal Communities and other developers. Adjacent to it, Taylor Morrison is developing Esplanade at Kingston, a 1,285-home community.
- By June, Kingston already had at least 38 detached single-family permits in hand, according to the new LSI stats released Aug. 27. And despite just getting started on the extensive clearing and building, it already ranked eighth among Lee County communities for attached single-family and multi-family permits in the year ending in June.
