Passenger traffic increased by 7.2 percent in January, compared to the previous year, at Southwest Florida International Airport.
Last month, 755,232 passengers traveled through the airport. The traffic leader in January was Delta with 161,665 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were AirTran (107,800), JetBlue (79,686), Southwest (75,587) and US Airways (74,181).
Southwest Florida International Airport had 8,349 takeoffs and landings, an increase of 3.4 percent compared to January 2012.
In addition, slightly more than 3 million pounds of air freight moved through the airport in January, an increase of 9.4 percent compared to January 2012.
The airport served more than 7.3 million passengers in 2012 and is one of the top 50 U.S. airports for passenger traffic. Information: ww.flylcpa.com
Vanscoy elected VP of homeowners group
Gordon Vanscoy was recently elected vice president of the Aqualane Shores homeowners association in Naples.
Vanscoy, who graduated from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business, is president of Greencare, a local lawn care company.

Chrysalis Award nominations sought
The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau and the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Inc. are seeking nominations for the fourth annual Chrysalis Awards to honor businesses and individuals who have positively affected the local community.
Award nominations have been extended to Monday, and are open to any member of the local business community, regardless of whether they are directly a part of the tourism industry.
Award winners will be announced at a May 16 luncheon and trade show at Harborside Event Center in downtown Fort Myers.
